Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about Dermaplaning Blade Exfoliation.
Many sensitive skins tolerate dermaplaning when performed by a trained esthetician, but a consultation and patch assessment are necessary. We adapt technique and may recommend alternatives for active rosacea or extreme reactivity.
Results often last two to four weeks depending on individual hair growth and skin cell turnover. Regular maintenance every 4ā6 weeks helps sustain smoothness and keeps skin primed for other treatments.
Dermaplaning is excellent immediately before enzymes or very superficial peels to boost penetration. For stronger chemical peels we may space treatments to reduce irritation and ensure safe, effective results.
Most clients feel only gentle scraping; treatments are typically painless and do not require numbing. We use a careful, soothing technique and encourage feedback so your comfort is maintained throughout.
Dermaplaning is not recommended for inflamed cystic acne, open wounds, active cold sores, or recently retinoid-compromised skin. A pre-treatment consultation will identify contraindications and safer alternatives.
Aftercare includes daily broad-spectrum SPF, gentle cleansers, and hydrating serums. Avoid active exfoliants or retinoids for 48ā72 hours. Makeup can be applied, but treat skin gently the first day.
