Assessment and treatment planning
Before hands-on work begins, the therapist assesses skin texture, the level of congestion, and any visible acne lesions on the back. Because the back is hard to reach at home, this initial evaluation identifies areas needing extra attention and determines whether the enzymatic mask with retinol scrub exfoliation is appropriate for the skin’s sensitivity and condition.
Planning also considers local factors such as Mascotte’s humid subtropical climate, which can increase oiliness and pore congestion during warm months. We discuss recent products, medications, and any skin concerns to select a comfortable, effective protocol while avoiding treatments that could irritate compromised skin.
Cleansing, enzymes and exfoliation
The service begins with a deep cleanse to remove surface oils and debris. A targeted enzymatic mask is applied to loosen dead skin and unclog pores; this is followed by a retinol scrub exfoliation to smooth rough areas and enhance cell turnover. Steam is used selectively to soften follicles and make extractions safer and more effective.
These steps are sequenced to reduce mechanical irritation while improving product penetration. The combination of enzymatic action plus controlled retinol-based exfoliation aims to free trapped debris and reduce the feeling of congestion in an area that is difficult to treat at home.
Extractions, electrical therapy and finish
After preparation, manual extractions remove comedones and surface lesions that resist cleansing alone. High frequency is applied after extractions to help soothe the treated area and provide a gentle electrical modality commonly used to support skin comfort following extractions, before a purifying mask is applied.
A warm towel removes the mask and the treatment is finished with a hydrating moisturizer to restore comfort and balance. The protocol — cleansing, steam, extractions, purifying mask and hydration — is designed to leave back skin clearer and more balanced while minimizing post-treatment irritation.
